The Importance of Advanced collagen-coating in Cell Culture:
Coating quality is one of the most critical factors to achieve excellency of cell culture. Why? It is because about half of the attached cells in culture interact with the coating substrate molecules. The above two cultures show the difference:
Left: Cells seeded on Neuvitro coverslips coated with rat tail collagen (Cat. # GG-12-collagen, placed inside a well of 6 well plate), 2 day culture.
Right: In the same well as the GG-12-collagen coverslips, some cells attached to plastic bottom of the well away from the collagen coated coverslips, with reduced serum to 1% in culture medium, cell viability difference is clearly demonstrated.
